THE LATE MISS IVY ELSIE HORNE - There
was a large congregation at the funeral of Miss
Ivy Horne on Friday. Miss Horne was the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Horne of Norfolk
House, Mattishall, and was a probationer nurse
at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital where she
died on February 3rd. A service was conducted
in the Methodist Church by Pastor J. H. Matthews,
of Colliers Wood, London. The Rev D. Graham
assisted. The coffin was borne by Messrs. A
Atkins, H. Bingham, C Mackrell and S. Ward,
and Mrs N. Garner accompanied the hymns, "In
Heavenly Love Abiding" and " O, what
will we do with Jesus." The Pastor referred
to the devoted Christian service that Miss Horne
had rendered to the Methodist Church and especially
to her good work in re-establishing the Sunday
School at East Tuddenham. Among the many mourner
were 5 nurses representing the Norfolk and Norwich
Hospital
The grave was lined with Ivy and flowers, and
the coffin was inscribed "Ivy Elsie Horne
who entered into her Heavenly home February
3rd 1940"There were wreaths from the Sunday
School and Methodist Church Mattishall: Matron
and Nursing Staff of the Norfolk and Norwich
Hospital: and C.E. members, Queen's Road Methodist,
Norwich
