can be found HERE
1/ Eliza Godfrey:
(1829) - Eliza married Samuel Kerridge a Farm
Labourer in the Dec quarter of 1856 at Norwich.
Eliza and Samuel had children although it is
unclear on numbers but in 1871 there was a 3
year old Emma Eliza Kerridge staying with her
grandparents (Ann 1804 and William Godfrey)
at 12 Dereham Road Mattishall. Emma appears
to have been taken in by Ann and William for
in the 1871 census Emma was still there and
recorded as age 13, born London, Middlesex.
There is a birth record of a Eliza Emma Kerridge
being born in Lambeth in the December quarter
of 1857 (1d 247) It also appears that the babies
mother Eliza (1829) did not survive for in the
same year and quarter we find the following
death record:
1857: Death record – Eliza Kerridge
at Lambeth – Dec quarter (1d 181)
Eliza would have been about 28 years old.
There is a death record of a
Samuel Kerridge age 43 dying at Lambeth in the
September quarter of 1875 (1d 216)
Emma
Kerridge (1857) born as Eliza
Emma Kerridge married at the age of 46 her
grandmother’s nephew William Horne (1832)
who was a 71 year old widower and Retired
Shop Keeper of Mattishall on March 18th 1903
at East Dereham Registry Office.
Eliza Emma Horne
died in 1937 age 79 and was buried on January
22nd at Mattishall Cemetery on Burgh Lane
