It is known
that Nero's brother Walter (above) returned
to England from America to carry out missionary
work sometime before 1914. Did he encourage
Nero to travel back with him as it is recorded
that Nero joined the Canadian Army 1915-1918
and fought in the First World War where he was
a corporal. Nero's son Leslie Marshall Fisher
(1898) also enlisted in the Canadian Military
in 1915, he lost his left arm in the war and
was discharged before the war ended.

Great Granddaughter.
Julia and Nero went to
Canada for a few years, along with their eldest
son Leslie, It is not clear if Sidney went but
from all account he didn't. Nero and Julia went
back to England after WW1, but Leslie stayed
in Toronto and married a girl from Greenbrooke
Ontario and had a family, Leslie returned to
England in the early 1960''s. His oldest son
William Leslie Fisher was career army
and ended up in British Columbia - His daughter
lived in Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island,
about 15 miles north of Victoria.

great sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of our father, William Leslie
Fisher, Sat. July 1, 2006, Canada
Day, a day fitting for a proud old soldier.
Born in Toronto Nov. 10, 1922 to Leslie
and Edith Fisher. Dad served his country
well, enlisting in the army at 17, training
in England in 1939 for service in Europe
where he was wounded at Caen. After
WW2 Bill returned to Toronto where he
married Ethel Styles in 1945. Re-enlisting
again in 1950 for duty in Korea and
remaining in the armed forces until
1967. Predeceased by his wife Ethel
in 1998, Bill leaves behind, son Wayne
and daughters Karen (Ron) and Joanne.
He also leaves his devoted sisters Audrey
and June and his brother Don (Billie).
We would like to extend our special
thanks to the nurses and staff on B2
The Lodge at Broadmead for all of their
special care and attention to Dad during
this time. God's speed Dad. Funeral
service will be held at Sequoia Garden
Memorial 4665 Falaise Dr. Burial to
