Re: Reginald Hugh Fisher (1896)
The Fisher's - The family history of Reginald Hugh Fisher Begins in Mattishall, Norfolk. Reginald's father was Charles Fisher, Charles was the son of Clare and Mary Ann (nee White) Clare was the son of William and Ann Fisher and theirs are the earliest record of the family that I could find William was born in 1791 and died in 1865, his wife Ann was found still living with their daughter Mary Ann on the 1871 census Ann died in 1872 and her daughter died 1876 at age fifty four. The Fisher's seem to go back a long way to Mattishall and Clare probably had other brothers and sisters but we will begin with him.

Clare and Mary Ann White married on September 19th 1853 at the Parish Church in Mattishall and had nine children all of whom live and go on to marry and have families of their own, all it seems except Mary Ann who was born in 1854 and of whom I found no other record past the 1871 census.

Clare seemed to be reasonably financially secure and in 1881 was listed as a farmer of seventy four acres and employing two men and was also a PM preacher (Primative Methodist Preacher) as were his sons Clare and Thomas at that period.

Charles (Reginald's father) married Louisa Jane Godbolt in Walsingham in December 1887 and are found living in Wells in 1891.
Louisa Godbolt (often found spelled "Godbold") was from Chedgrave Norfolk and can be found detailed on a separate page.
By this time they had three children all of which show up on the1901 except Louisa B. she was born in 1888 and I think she must have died between then and 1901. At the time Charles lived in Wells he was a baker/ confectioner with two young men listed as servants/ bakers apprentice's, they also had a female domestic servant!

By the time the 1901 census was taken the family were living in Lowestoft and now had several more children.
Reginald was born July 30th 1896, two more sons were born after him...Bertie Owen and Percy Leonard. Hilda must have been born after 1901 although as yet I have found no birth record of her. No marriage or death records on the other siblings of Reginald have shown up either.

Clare was still living with his wife Mary Ann on the 1901 census, he is now listed as an egg and butter dealer.
I found as the generations went on they kept to the same family names of each other.

Reginald married Nanny (Elizabeth Baker) on March 30th 1918 at the Norwich Registry office.
