Arthur John Colton - Died in 1904 - Reading Sep quarter (2c 182) - age 48
It is thought that Eliza Ann Colton died about the same time - on record as yet

The family story goes that Herbert's parents for some unknown reason failed to register his birth within the 42 day period after he was born so it is thought that the date of November 28, 1893 was actually made up to avoid paying a penalty. In 1905 at the age of 8 Herbert joined the 'Blue Coat' Private School, Reading. On investigation we discovered that on his enrolment his birth date was listed as June 11, 1893 - was this his real birth date?
